Kandy Campus

AIBT Kandy Campus is situated in the heart of the sacred city of Kandy, Sri Lanka.

This historic Buddhist city, also known as Senkadagalapura, was the last capital of the Sinhala kings, whose patronage allowed Sinhala culture to flourish for more than 2,500 years until the British occupation in 1815.

Nestled among the scenic hills of the Kandy plateau, the city is surrounded by lush tropical plantations, mainly tea estates. Kandy serves as both an administrative and religious center, as well as the capital of Sri Lanka’s Central Province.

The city is home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. Recognizing its historical and cultural significance, UNESCO declared Kandy a World Heritage Site in 1988.

Historically, the local Buddhist rulers of Kandy resisted colonial expansion by the Portuguese, Dutch, and British powers, preserving Sri Lanka’s cultural and religious heritage for centuries.

AIBT Kandy Campus spans over 15,000 square feet and has the capacity to accommodate more than 1,000 active students at any given time.

The campus features administrative and coordination offices, student counseling services, state-of-the-art computer labs and lecture halls, and a library housing over 5,000 textbooks. Additionally, it offers a dedicated student area with modern recreation facilities, creating a vibrant and supportive learning environment.
