Aims

 This course is specially created to provide an alternative to conventional event management programs that focus heavily on curriculum. Designed with both professionals and students in mind, its main goal is to transfer the practical knowledge necessary for success in the industry. Through a focus on hands-on learning, the course aims to provide participants with the necessary skills to succeed as event designers. The program aims to develop critical thinking and creative problemsolving skills, which are essential for navigating the ever-changing field of event management. In addition, the program of study is designed to support both professional and personal development, encouraging a lifelong learning attitude and adaptability in order to succeed in the ever-changing events sector. Specifically, the programme aims to:

 

 Equip participants with practical skills and knowledge in event design and execution, emphasizing hands-on learning experiences that simulate real-world scenarios.

  • Develop critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities necessary for effective decision-making in the dynamic environment of event management.
  • Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the key disciplines within event management, including marketing, finance, logistics, and sustainability, to prepare participants for multifaceted roles in the industry.

Programme Learning Outcomes

At the end of the programme, the students will be able to:

  • Understand the related disciplines in event management.
  • Understand the critical factors relating to consumer behaviour and service marketing and develop competencies in using concepts and methods.
  • Understand the context of event management and its critical components.
  • Apply appropriate marketing strategies in event management.
  • Make financial plans for events, work with media and maintain sustainability in event management.
  • Understand the significance of business communication in event management, how to become an event entrepreneur.
  • Understand concepts related to event evaluation.

Eligibility Requirements

No prior knowledge is required. Applicants should normally be at least 16 years old and preferably with the following:

  1. Level 3 certificate holders with Early Childhood qualification or Early Childhood teaching or caring experience and
  2. Applicants 16 years old and above and with zero Levels or work experience in similar fields.
  3. Applicants 16 years old and above without any early childhood academic qualification but with at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in early childhood teaching experience.
