Dr. Mohan Pathirana, Chairman and Managing Director of Clamp Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA (Merit) from the University of Colombo. He began his career as an Electrical Engineer at Hayleys Engineering Ltd and, in 1999, laid the foundation for ICBT Campus, serving as CEO and Executive Director for 18 years. Later, he became the Chairman of Edulink International Campus, where he enhanced its academic reputation and financial growth. In 2018, he founded Clamp Holdings to share his expertise in international higher education and to establish Sri Lanka as an education hub in Asia.

Dr. Pathirana has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Hall of Fame Award at the World Chancellor’s & Vice Chancellor’s Awards (2014, India), the Innovative Leader and Young Achiever Awards at the Asian Leadership Awards (2013, Dubai), and the Hon. Abdul Kalam Award for Educational Excellence (2019). He was also conferred an Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of the University) by Middlesex University, UK, in October 2014, and the Honorary Fellowship by Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK, in November 2014. The latter is the highest recognition offered by the university, making Dr. Pathirana the first Sri Lankan to receive this honour.
